Bri Young is the Program Coordinator for District 2’s Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program with the Georgia Department of Public Health. Two of her projects have been selected as CDC State Success Stories. The first, in partnership with DFCS, provided 150 duffel bags of supplies to foster children while delivering lead education and strengthening agency collaboration. The second, Peek-a-Boo, Lead Hides There, Too!, a bilingual children’s book she authored, was chosen as one of 15 national CDC success stories to be published in late 2025. Both projects are featured on CDC’s website: cdc.gov/lead-prevention/success-stories-by-state/georgia.html.

Her prior work includes organizing a five-county food drive linking nutrition to lead exposure prevention, developing Georgia-specific educational materials for providers and families, and presenting at national and state conferences and CDC-hosted meetings.

With a B.S. in Biology from Georgia State University and an M.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida, she brings a research background spanning marine invertebrate biomechanics, coral reef ecology, and wildlife rehabilitation. She also holds a Level 2 venomous snake handling certification.

Passionate about public health, environmental health, and science communication, she is dedicated to building healthier, safer communities through innovative outreach, partnerships, and education.
