 Emily Mathews is a lifelong resident of Northeast Tennessee and a public health professional with over seven years of experience advancing health initiatives in rural communities. As a Community Impact Consultant for the Tennessee Department of Health, she works alongside county health councils and community-based organizations to strengthen capacity, secure funding, and implement sustainable solutions that address local health priorities. Her expertise includes strategic planning, program development, and fostering collaboration across sectors to reduce disparities and promote equity. 

Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in public health and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from East Tennessee State University. She is also a certified graduate of the Grantsmanship Center’s Training Program. Her passion for public health is fueled by a love for building strong connections with people and fostering relationships that inspire collective action toward healthier communities.
