Anni Crook is the Interim Regional Health Equity and Inclusion Director and serves as the Health Equity and Inclusion Program Coordinator for the Midlands Region at the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH). In her role, she oversees and supports regional health departments, focusing on addressing social drivers of health and advancing health equity across the state. She works to break down barriers to healthcare access, particularly for marginalized populations, and advocates for policies and practices that reduce health disparities within the communities she serves.

Anni is passionate about fostering inclusive environments and regularly leads trainings on eliminating health disparities, as well as self-care strategies, to enhance the wellbeing of public health professionals. She is also certified in Results Based Accountability (RBA) from Clear Impact and is a Certified Adult Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) Instructor, equipping individuals with the skills to support mental health in their communities. Anni has also contributed to the publication of the 2023 South Carolina State Health Assessment (SHA) and the 2025 South Carolina State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP).

Anni earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from the University of South Carolina in December 2020 and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior (HPEB) at the same institution, graduating in May 2026.
