Dedicated and driven young professional, Harvey Moore began his career in accounting at Ryan White Part B EHE, where he honed his skills in financial management, organization, and attention to detail. Though his working background was rooted in sports and business operations, he had yet to find a role that truly aligned with his deeper calling—serving others and making a meaningful impact. That changed when he landed a position with the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), opening the door to a world he had not previously explored: public health.
Prior to MSDH, Harvey worked in various customer service & business operation roles where communication, empathy, and responsiveness were essential. While he found fulfillment in helping others on a personal level, he never imagined those same skills would translate so powerfully in the realm of public service. At MSDH, he discovered that public health was not just a job, it was a mission. Through this opportunity, he’s been able to live out his passions: uplifting communities, helping people in need, and driving real change across the state.
As he’s grown within the department, Harvey has developed and continued to refine his leadership abilities, positioning himself as a passionate advocate for progress in a state that faces significant challenges. He believes in the potential of Mississippi and is committed to making a lasting impact—not just within the organization, but across the broader public health landscape. With a unique blend of financial acumen, customer service experience, and a servant’s heart, Harvey is helping to shape a healthier, more hopeful future for Mississippi living out his motto … “Imagine if we were all positive, productive and persistent in making Mississippi a better place to live.”
