Kerri is a Mississippi Regional WIC Nutritionist Supervisor in Region I, District 2 overseeing nutritionists, WIC clerk-aides and breastfeeding staff in 10 Northeast counties. Kerri conducts hiring, training, and coordination of WIC employees for the WIC services provided to all communities involved. Her undergraduate degree is in Nutrition and Education from The University of Mississippi. She is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s in Nutrition, Dietetics and Management from the University of Southern Mississippi. Kerri began her career as a clinical dietitian at Ellisville State School, home for the Developmentally Challenged population. After being there for 2 years she was promoted to the Director of Dietetic Services. After serving there for 10 years, Kerri took a break from working outside the home, homeschooling for 17 years. She returned to work with WIC in 2011 as a WIC certifier. She was promoted first as a Special Projects Officer within WIC, and then as the Nutritionist Supervisor in February of 2022. Currently she has a building project at the Alcorn County Health Department to add a WIC wing (adding a Mom’s Lactation room) and update the original building. Kerri has applied for a Food and Nutrition Services grant to provide updates to the Itawamba County Health Department (also adding a Mom’s Lactation Room). Kerri is pursuing her IBCLC and will sit for the exam on September 20, 2023.
