Dr Marlene Gonzalez was born and raised in Cuba. She relocated to the United States at the age of 13. Dr Gonzalez began her academic journey in San Francisco, California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from the University of San Francisco. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Miami, Florida, where she furthered her education by completing a master’s degree in biomedical sciences at Barry University. She then embarked on her medical career at Ross University School of Medicine. She continued her journey by relocating to Lehigh Valley, where she completed her Family Medicine Residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2018. She practiced as a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician at Lehigh Valley Health Network until January 2022, contributing to the health and well-being of her patients. During that time, she also served as faculty for the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine. In February 2022, she took on a new chapter in her career by joining the Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida. She currently practices at one of their locations in Immokalee, Florida, where she continues to provide valuable medical care to the community. Her current involvement as faculty at Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine emphasizes her commitment to medical education. Dr Gonzalez’s journey with Healthcare Network (HCN) has been marked by dedication, compassion and commitment to their mission leading her to her recent appointment as the Clinical Program Director of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program.
