I am originally from Alabama but have lived in several other states over the last 24 years. I moved back to Alabama in 2019 to care for my parents (who have passed on) and decided to stay in Alabama. I enjoy getting to meet new people from all aspects of life and culture. The one place that I loved most was New York City/New Jersey because of the multitude of people from all over the world. My second favorite place is Texas. I enjoy spending time with family and restarting my goal to run in a marathon.
I am a Registered Nurse with over 28 years of experience in home health, hospice and hospital settings. I have held leadership positions for the last 15 years within home health and hospice. I cannot imagine doing anything else but home care, because it gives me the most personal/professional satisfaction of any area of medical settings; and I also love our geriatric population, because they are so precious, and we can still learn a lot just by listening. I am currently the Division Director for the Bureau of Home and Community Services with the Alabama Department of Public Health. I have been very fortunate to be a part of the ADPH home health team because we serve the most at risk chronic disease patients in Alabama. I am very excited about this opportunity to enhance my leadership skills and meet new people from all over the states.
