Ben Chambers is a Business Manager at Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) with ten years of experience in project management, strategic planning, and program implementation. He currently manages several contracts with local Federally Qualified Health Centers, free or reduced cost clinics, and other service providers that focus on expanding access to primary care for Mecklenburg County residents. Ben also coordinates the department’s strategic planning efforts which includes developing MCPH’s three-year strategic business plan and creating processes that ensure the plan remains a relevant guide for the department’s work across dozens of programs.
Prior to Mecklenburg County, Ben worked with the New York City Office of Management and Budget and the City of San Antonio. He graduated with a master’s degree in public administration from the School of Government at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
A life-long learner, Ben is passionate about applying new ideas to real-world situations with an eye toward making the greatest impact possible for the community he serves. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Ben understands the importance of teamwork and humility in accomplishing anything worth doing well, and he is always up for a new adventure.
