I am a dedicated Health Education Specialist II at Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness Department- Health Services, Communicable Disease Department. I play an essential role in promoting community health and wellness. With a solid foundation in public health, I am committed to enhancing health equity in Louisville’s diverse populations through innovative programs and outreach efforts.

I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Education and Psychology (double major). I started my career at the LMPHW in 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have earned numerous certifications in health education such as BLS/CPR instructor, Youth Mental Health First Aid, U of L Digital Literacy Cohort graduate, Stop the Bleed Trainer, along with other certifications. My expertise encompasses designing and implementing health education programs, evaluating community health needs, and fostering partnerships with local organizations to drive impactful health interventions.

In my current role, I lead initiatives aimed at increasing health literacy and access to preventive services for communicable diseases. I have been a two-time grant recipient of the Community Health Action Team (CHAT) Grant from KDPH along with being a first-time LMPHW recipient of the KDPH Office of Health Equity RFA Grant funded through the CDC for over $170,000. My proactive approach and evidence-based strategies have significantly contributed to the success of various public health programs, addressing issues ranging from communicable disease prevention to mental health awareness. I am passionate and remain actively involved in professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the field.
