My name is Austin Henderson and I serve as the Workforce Development Coordinator for the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County. I attended the Illustrious Tuskegee University where I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management and I earned my MBA from Troy University. Upon graduation, I spent several years working in warehouse management, operations and third-party logistics. My wife and I moved to Tallahassee, FL with our dog in fall of 2021. Since my arrival, I have been working in workforce development, human resources, and administration in various industries. I was presented with the opportunity of working for the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County in March of 2024. I am currently assisting with the development of our community health assessment, and I facilitate bi-weekly workshops on professional development topics titled “Free Game Fridays”. I have received positive feedback on the workshops and I appreciate the support from the department.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the gym. We enjoy walking our dog in the park and shopping locally. I also have a photography business that I’m very passionate about. As the countdown to the PHPC Leadership Institute begins, I’m looking forward to networking with future leaders and sharing ideas on ways to improve the communities we serve. I’ll include my LinkedIn to connect with my fellow leaders in the PHPC.
