Arely Sapp is a Senior Human Services Program Specialist at the Florida Department of Health in Holmes County. Arely has an extensive background in the educational field, serving as part of the exceptional ESE team locally for 4 years. Over the last six years, she has transitioned into prevention education including substance prevention, violence prevention and tobacco prevention. Arely holds a General Studies associate’s degree from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. Currently, Arely serves as the Tobacco Prevention Program Manager in her local Health Department and oversees Students Working Against Tobacco, a youth advocacy program focusing on preventing the initiation of tobacco use amongst youth.
Arely is constantly looking for ways to serve the community, in 2018 she was part of the community relief efforts during and after Hurricane Michael, which impacted the Florida Panhandle as a Category five storm. In 2022, Arely deployed as part of the team for Hurricane relief Ian, who made landfall in September 2022 in Punta Gorda, FL. as a category four storm. She also supported local COVID -19 response efforts in 2020-2021. Over the years Arely has strived to serve those who struggle in new environments. She has offered Spanish classes to the community, and her bilingual skills to people in need of medical services, including making home visits to clients in quarantine and adolescent health. Conference speaking credits include the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence biennial conference where she presented Creating Opportunities from the Ground Up, showcasing a local girls leadership program, in 2022.
